alright, so i got this picture ( http://dynamic.si.cnn.com/si_online/covers/issues/2008/0320.html )of chris lofton, its a sports illustrated cover, and i think it would be really cool if i could take all of the background people, and make them black and white, and print Chris lofton (the person with the tennessee jersey in the foreground) in color. please tell me what software i would need and how to do this, thank you so much in advance!

  1. I have Photoshop so I did it for you.

Yahoo isn't letting me post the link, and I can not email it to you, so contact me when you get the chance so I can give you the photo.

  2. You can use Photofiltre

Use the "Selection" tool to go around Chris, and then go to the top, click 'Filter", "Color", then "grayscale"

    et voila

    there's your picture :).

It isnt that hard, really :].

  3. Almost any old version of Photoshop will do that.

You'll need to select and cut/copy the color area; in this case the subject, and put it into a new layer.   Then convert the background to black and white, and move the subject color layer above the background layer.

There are many sites out there that describe how to do this for Photoshop, and there might be others that outline how to do it in other editors as well.

  4. photofiltre could do this basically, as previously mentioned, yet after selection, you would in vert from image selection, then adjust to grayscale, for parts in arms way, select and change color to grayscale,

    Photofiltre

Gimp ~photo editor, with this you can do the same and use layers to make a gray duplicate and erase from top layer,
