Component and Composite?

I read an article that said that basically composite cables work just fine as component when trying to use it on hdtv's is the true? Read below for the actual article where I saw this .

  1. Not true at all. Trust me there is a hugely noticeable difference

    But component does work the same as hdmi cable


  2. Component cable should be made with 75 ohm well shielded coaxial cable. Good composite cables are made from the same or very similar material. In this case the only appreciable difference is that the 3 component cables must be electrically the same length. If true the article is correct.

    In fact for short runs almost any three cables can be used for component connections; however, performance will suffer if the three cables are dissimilar in type or length, and if inadequately shielded will be prone to interference.

    You will get answers here saying everything has to be super high quality cable, etc. and that, essentially, the world will end if you don't use dedicated component cables. Take it with a grain of salt.
