  1. Some DVD players need to have the component outputs turned on. In those cases the picture looks B&W.

  2. Try another component input jack on your TV (if available). Most TV's have more than one.  Are you using std. cables (red-yellow-white) in an HD jack (blue-red-green) or vice versa?  Just a couple of trouble shooting things to try.  Maybe the cables are faulty, try another set of cables.

  3. you can check if you invert the colors of the cables or

    the cable is faulty

also you can check if the dvd is PAL or NTSC.

try other component input to test

try another dvd player in the same input

using RCA cables that is not red green or blue doesnt matter as long the cables are rca, there are 3 of them and you hook up in the same order on both device the only different between them is the color of the cable but both of them are regular RCA cables.

  4. I think maybe just , maybe you might have a component cable in balance.   Which means that your cable[s] may not be matching the colors that they have to match (for instance red for red; green for green; blue for blue).   When running component cables you have to make sure that all the colors [in the back of the unit[s] ] are matching what the cable color is wearing.  So I would check to make sure starting with the TV and moving on the the DVD, player.  If you find that, that was the problem and you match them properly the black and white should go away.  I hope that, that is just the case.
