Question:

Composite resin filling

I got some composite resin put over this yellow spot on my tooth today. The composite resin is much brighter then the surrounding tooth. Is there anything that can be done to make it less bright or make the surrounding tooth brighter?

  1. If it was a composite filling material, then it should be shade matched to your teeth. If it is too white and doesn't look even then go back to your dentist and tell him/her so. They will choose a material color better matched to your teeth and redo it.

But... it may also be a sealant material. That is not available in different color shades. If that is the case then you are stuck with that color. With a little time and some coffee ;-) it will discolor to be less bright and noticable.

    Good luck!
