Does anybody have any experience from living there or know somebody that does? What sort of education would your child get? I know nothing about this and my husband is looking at a 3 year contract to work there.

  1. There are lots of privately owned schools that provide quality education from Kindergatten class to University degree and many areas of discipline. The kind of compound you would get depends on which part of Nigeria your husband would be working. There are various kinds of accomodation facilities depending on how much your husband can afford to pay for accomodation. You can also hire private security operatives to guard your house. But I would advise you to leave in a suburb that is either an estate or where people from your country reside most. You would get all of these information from the company that is hiring your Husband.

  2. No idea, sorry.

  3. It all depends on where in Nigeria, and which company is contracting for your husband's services.  Their personnel office should be providing you with all of the necessary information.  If not, re-examine the situation closely.

Embassy employees and top company employees have very nice, secure compounds with access to excellent schools, and the villas have the requisite generators and personal security features - crime, including home invasions, robberies and burglaries are a huge problem.
