I want to build a life-size statue made out of Lego. How much weight can a piece of Lego take before it cracks?

i.e. how big can I make it without crushing all the bricks on the bottom?

  1. The translucent bricks are much weaker than the opaque ones

  2. I weigh 220lbs.  I can stand on a single brick and not crush it.

I am much more dense than lego bricks, so a life size statue of me would weigh less than 220lbs.

You have no worries about crushing the base on a man sized statue, unless you are making a statue of an upside-down pyramid! :)

  3. legos are tuff so you wont crack them if you diperse the weight just right amoung the rest of the base of your thing
