Compressor dead on a 2 year old 42" GE...

Question

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if the compresor on most refrigerators is covered
for more than one year by the manufacturer in this case GE? I was told
by my repair man that most major components are covered up to 10 years. I would appreciate your feed back on this.
