Compulsive behavior of my chihuahua?

my chihuahua is constantly l*****g and nibbling on things. she nibbles on her paws, blankets, pillows etc. she licks my hands and face, our other dog, her paws, the couch. this goes on all day in between her naps and a bit of playing. she is 6 years old. What is with this obsessive behavior?

obsessive-compulsive behaviors in dogs (as in humans) are considered anxiety disorders. if this is really obsessive and not due to a medical disorder (such as allergies) there are medications available as well as behavior modification techniques. but also figuring out why your little one is anxious would be very helpful and she could benefit from some stress relief.
