Question:

Computer Battery Question?

I recently purchased an HP laptop that has a battery life of about 5 hours. I want to keep the battery in the best condition possible so I am wondering if it is better to plug my computer into the wall when I near one regardless of how much battery life is left. Or do I let the battery run low each time before charging it??

Thanks

  1. Well, if it's convenient just pull the battery out once you plug it in and know you will be plugged in for a while. A lot of newer batteries don't have memories so you don't have to drain them prior to charging, but lithium-ion batteries, which is what most new batteries are usually lose their capacity very fast after about a year of use, that's just the unfortunate things about a batteries.
