Question:

Computer Building?

I need a new computer, and I've decided to challenge myself into building my own one. I've never done this before, and since I am skilled in using a computer, I decided I would like to familiarize myself with the inside of a computer. I want the most high performance computer. I just don't know what are the most high quality parts. Can someone want to link me to all the best parts?

Thanks in advance.

  1. What is the price range?  What are you going to do with it?  Heavy games or just what?  More information please.

  2. Get the new 45mn  Quad Core processor, Extreme edition if can afford it,

A decent top end X48 chipset Gigabyte motherboard, one that takes DDR3 memory and has at least 2 pci-e slots for the video cards, and gigLan or more.

If u running XP or Vista 32 then 4 gigs ram,

x2 Raptor hard drives, they are really fast and can run in raid, and maybe a 500gb enterprise quality drive to start off with for storage,

a nice case to put all the stuff in.

    DVD/CD/BluRay reader/writer

a nice aftermarket cooler for the cpu.

either NVidia 9800series or ATi 4800 series graphics card with dual GPU's.

    A nice 24inch lcd screen.

    thats about the basics.
