Computer Drleted Local Disc D???

ok.

so i just went on my computer and local disc D is GONE. i've tried a system restore, i've tried safe mode, i'ce tried looking in every folder for it, i've tried to run it. NOTHING. that had *all* of my music on it, my pictures, my videos ect.

ALSO i decided i could try and get my music back from BitTorrent and its saying "choose the program you want to open this file Photoshop, Winrar ect. so i pressed Winrar and a popup came up saying its either unknown or damaged

can someone PLEASE help me getting local disc D back and get downloading back??

  1. Check if your 'local disk d' is actually plugged in inside your computer, it should just be a hard drive.


  2. Your files shouldn't have been on Disc D because that is normally used for a backup partition of windows. If it was a separate hard drive then I can understand that. You should try mounting the hard drive in another computer because it's possible it was corrupted.

  3. Is local disk D a partition or a physical drive?

    Click Start > Run, type "diskmgmt.msc", and hit Enter. (In Vista, type the command in the search box). This will tell you the status of the drive. If D is a physical drive (not a partition) and is missing from Disk Management, then turn off and unplug the computer, and make sure it is connected.
