My computer wired sonnection for some reason just being crappy. It always give me a limited connection or no connection. I know it's not the modem problem, because i have a laptop, and it's doing fine using wireless, but my desktop with the wired on just acted wierd. Any idea what might caused it. I try to turn off modem and router for 30 sec, and still no luck.

  1. You probably didn't restart

    unplug it

    stitch the cord around

    restart your computer

  2. Some possibilities

    1)  the ethernet cable.  Make sure its properly connected.  If its worn out, try replacing this first.  As it is cheaper.

    2)  you might need to replace the ethernet card on your desktop.

  3. I once had the same problem! It was SOOO frustrating! I tried the following things;

    restarting computer and modem

    changing cords

    and finally  Iwentr to internet connections. I saw that I had a bunch of checkable and non-checkable options. It took forever, but I did trial and error with possible combinations and eventually worked. I know it isn't helpful, but you could have downloaded something or just just done something that screwed with the options. You could also try disabling then enabling the connection, that worked once for me.

    I had the same problem. Hope this helps! :)

  4. Can you make your desktop go wireless as well? There are USB adapters that work for this reason. You can find 'em at an electronics store.
