I learned gow to format a PC using windows XP CD but I'm not sure wether I'm doing it right or not , so here is how I do it , please read this then tell me wether I'm doing it the right way :

1- I insered the CD and restarted

2-I have booted from CD then waited until it loaded the files needed for format , then I go the blue screen

3-In blue tscreen there was my partitions ( C,D,E,F)

I deleted each of them by presing D then confirming by pressing L

4-Now I got ( Unpartitioned Space )

5-I created new partitions ( C.D,E,F ) and entered their size , then selected the C partiotion to be formatted and to install windows in , after I picked ( FAT) the formatting process went on automatically ,

and windows was installed in the C but the D,E, F are still RAW ,

and this is my concern when exactly I can format the other partitions , after the windows is successfully installed then I press right click and format ? or it suppose to be formatted earlier ? I was able to format them after the Windows was successfully installed , is this the correct was to do it ?

  1. Yes you can format them safely after WinXP is installed. It does not matter if you do it off the install disk or from inside windows. It still works.
