Computer Locking Up...?

Question

I have a PC running Windows XP. It's recently started locking up sporadically when I play videos; whether they are from YouTube, Hulu.com or Netflix. I thought, at first, that it was an issue just with videos on the Internet, because I have no problems with DVDs, but it will also lock up when I'm trying to play video games.

(By 'locking up' I mean that whatever sound that is playing at the time will play over and over in a roughly 5 second loop, and I can't get out of the program -- or move the mouse -- to close it, even with ctrl-alt-del)

Any ideas?
