Computer Mic Problem?

I've been using my computer microphone forever and it always worked, but the other day it stopped working. I figured it must have been the mic itself and not the computer, so I plugged in my friend's mic and that didn't work either. Anyone know whats wrong?

It could be from several reasons, could be that the Mic isn't functioning, or its just acting up, its not your computer, its probably Just the Mic Acting up, or it just given up....

plug another mic, and test that one, if that mic works, then that proves your Previous Mic was Bad.

run the following test, goto Start Menu > Control Panel > Sounds and audio devices > Voice tab > (also check volume is turned up from here) next and under voice recording sub menu select test hardware > and follow prompts, this will test all audio coming in via an external source
