Computer Mouse Wheel Movement?

Question

What is the usual setting for the computer mouse when scrolling with the wheel? Mine is moving down in waves and driving me crazy. When i go to mouse settings it doesn't matter how i set them. It still moves in waves. HELP!! How do i just get a continuous scroll? Thanx!

Its probably dirty.Have you cleaned the rollers lately.(Take ball out and run your fingernail over each roller to remove gunk.)
