What is the procedure to boot the computer if we forgot the password. What will happen if we reset the password

Assuming you mean the BIOS password, you can reset the password. The procedure is as follows:

1. Shut down your computer.

2. Make sure you don't carry any static charge; touch any metal object to ensure the same.

3. Open the computer's CPU cover.

4. Locate the battery on the motherboard.

5. Alongside the battery is a jumper.

6. Remove the battery; then place the jumper into the middle pin and the free pin (total 3 pins here).

7. Replace the jumper in its old position; replace the battery in its old position.

8. Close the CPU cover.

9. Restart the computer; now the startup password should appear no more.

press F8 before the booting time

go to safe mode and

press enter

then press esc

and after that click on admin.... a/c

If you know administrator login credentials, you can reset the user password. If you don't know admin credentials, download ultimate boot cd from http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/, burn the iso, boot with that cd and use the Offline NT Password & Registry Editor to reset the password.

If you reset the password, make sure all your system services which uses the admin credentials are using the new password. Might you need to install some programs again.
