Computer Problem........?

I have a Windows XP Computer and it won't let me log on at all. I press on my name and type in my password and when I do that, it shows my wallpaper for about 2 seconds then says logging off. I tried restarting and shutting down several times but nothing is working. I recently had a virus called, Anti Virus XP 2008 which is a fake Anti Virus, but I got rid of it with a real Anti Virus program but the program said I need to reboot to clear all viruses and I did reboot, and when it was restarting, it didn't work. Please tell me how I can fix this problem and if you can maybe provide me with an email address if you don't mind so I can ask questions if I don't understand. First person to log me on gets best answer. Please help and thanks so much.

  1. Most probable answer to your problem is that there is not enough space on your system drive.

First of all, try loading in safe mode (keep pressing F8 button after rebooting until you see the dialogue that offers you various options of loading, then choose load in safe mode). If this works it means you can either scan the system in safe mode by the antivirus again and if it finds nothing you have to delete your profile in control panel>>profiles (this is too long to explain),

If it is not allowing you to load in safe mode, this should mean you don't have enough space on drive c:

Here you have several options, all of which are quite complicated. You can take out your HDD and bring it to a friend, install it in his PC and clean the space manually by deleting temporary internet files on your drive, for example. You can also load with a command prompt option and clean everything manually but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't know what to do with it.

    Good luck.

  2. Try booting you computer in Safe Mode (restart then hold/press F8) then running Windows Safe Mode with networking, using your internet browser download a free version of Adaware  (  http://www.lavasoft.com/single/trialpay....  ), Spybot (  http://www.spybot.com  ) and run them both.  If you're not able to log into safe mode, you may have to do a restore using a restore CD, or taking it into a shop.

Let me know if this helps!

  3. Email me.....I'll walk you through.

  4. You could try to insert your windows xp disc and restore your computer to an earlier time (if you enabled system restore).  If that doesn't work you should try to start your computer in safe mode.  Keep clicking F8 on your keyboard when your computer starts until there is the option to run in safe mode.  Then you should check your error log (sort of complicated, email me at frobro19@yahoo.com if you want to try this) to find the source of the problem.

That fake antivirus you were talking about can be removed with free antivirus and antispyware tools, I've seen it many times before.  Use avast! antivirus, spybot search and destroy, and SuperAntiSpyware (the best program for removing that XP virus thing).
