Computer Sound Help Please?

Question

Up until about a month ago my computer played all video's absolutely great, weather downloaded or a DVD in the drive.

but now the picture stutters and often is not in synch.

As everything was fine before, can anyone please help me to sort the problem out please

I am completely up to date with updates

I have scanned with windows live onecare anti-virus

I have scanned with Ad-aware

I regularly use Ccleaner

All help would be greatly appreciated

Basically your computer has become 'Obsolete'. You could try uninstalling some unused software, or buy some more RAM. Visit http://crucial.com to find out what RAM is compatible with your PC.

It could be that your drives fragmented, especially if it's pretty full.

try defragging.

If it not a fragmentation problem- how about the drive being full? The computer needs as much space as possible as temporary scratch space, especially when playing videos.

This might have happened, your machine might have shutdown inappropriately when the sound driver and graphic display was running in your processes in task manager thereby corrupting the some files.

This is what you should do, when ever you open volume control what happens or what information do you see?

use google to search for drivers of your machine in case you don't know your machine's brand site. This will help you to find the brand

click start, run and type dxdiag see machine model or check through accessories, system tools and system information.

For your picture, uninstall programs you don't use often, some programs use a lot of graphic memory on your machine, supposing you have 9 programs using 20 memory each of graphic memory when you have about 128mb (vice versa), you can image what will happen to your machine graphic picture.

perform disk cleanup, Use a different video player,

Or can equally do this too, search for your machine's driver site

and download a display or Graphic driver for better picture.
