Computer Virus Stops me accessing windows.?

Question

Okay I have this virus, It wont let me access windows xp because it shuts the computer down whenever I start it. Is there any solution to access my harddrive on the same computer? I have USB Flash disk only 200 Mb. I need to edit some files on the hard drive( Or maybe boot something with it to edit the files) . So I can access it. Can you show me some programs that will do that? A noobies guide plz. TY!

Restart the computer in safe mode (Hold F8 when computer starts and choose safe mode)

Run the AVG Virus removal tool VCleaner.

if u have a partitioned drive. Install another Operating system. Then install an antivirus on the new OS then scan for viruses. Reboot then go to your first OS and hope that the virus is removed. This works because the newley installed OS is not infected by the virus. if u want to migrate, overwrite your programs by installing them on the same location so that the Program's registry will be transfered to the newly installed operation system. That is the best way to move on without removing your files. it's quite time consuming but maybe your files should worth it. goodluck^__^ email me for more questions

go to download.com and download AVG free and use that instead of norton or you ask ur computer shop people they will know
