Right has anyone heard of 'Antivirus XP'? The little bugger has installed itself on my comp and i can't get it back off. I'm riddled with spyware just now and somethings stopping me updating all my existing antivirus and stuff (avast, ad-aware, spybot, etc.)

Bad times! Can anyone help me fix it?

  1. * Get free version of Superantispyware. Finds viruses and spyware that are very very hard to find with no conflict to other antivirus software. http://www.superantispyware.com Update (manual) daily free.

    * Then run the the boot time (Full Scan).

  5. its free

    dont save just run.

each time you download you get the latest updated version.

  6. i know this might sound crazy but download avg (free version) on to your desktop.... when you get the option to run or save the programme, click save instead of run. once you got it on your desktop, restart your pc.

when your pc goes to restart, disable your modem (this is important).

then run avg free and install it. when installed (and while modem disabled) run the avg software. i know it sounds crazy but this works as avg for some reason seems to spot stuff avast don't see.....i know cus i got avast too, thats why i now run both on my machine!

run avg 2 or 3 times before powering back up your modem!

  7. Yeah i had this as well on my computer. I ran spybot and it worked but i can't see why yours isn't being updated...?

  9. download kaspersky antivirus or windows defender and then scan ur system and they will remove ....i prefer windows defender and kaspersky 7 the best for a system......

  10. It might be a trojan, run anti-malware.

  11. This has been going on for so long that I'm amazed people still haven't heard of it.

I suggest you search the site for questions about it because there are hundreds of questions and good answers on how to remove it.

I can recommend spybot too, but I've seen lots of suggestions.

  12. Download Spybot , download Windows Defender, restart computer, then run Spybot. See what the scan comes up with.

Windows Defender and Spybot are  2 really good Spyware Programs.

Now for Virus Protection  2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection.

Running Spybot and Defender, with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition.

Links Below are Programs that WILL Help.

I have Both AVG and Spybot on my computer.

    AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5.519

    Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.2

  13. Use NoAdware. It helped me remove "Antivirus XP" adware. You can download it from the link below.

  14. SpyBot will remove it but check for updates first and use it in safe mode. [Restart your computer and keep tapping F8 while its booting up until a menu appears, then use the up and down keys and press enter to select safe mode]

    Also use this;  http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

When its done run CCleaner to mop up any mess it may have left behind on your disc and in the registry

If you don't have it get it here;  http://www.filehippo.com/download_cclean...

  15. i had the same thing attach itself to my computer

i ran a Norton 360 scan and it was removed
