  1. Either your battery has died or your charging circuit in your laptop has died.

If it is under warranty ask dell to fix it.  Normally they will send someone to you to fix this.  Because if it's the charging circuit then there is no use in buying a new battery.

For the inspirons, there are are two clips, sometimes they get lose, try taking out the battery and putting it back in, just to make sure it's not a lose connection.

  2. Its probably either the wrong voltage on the ac adapter or a bad battery.  The sales guy at best buy told me that as laptop batteries got older, they loose their ability to keep a charge.

  3. make sure your AC adapter is the same as your old one (volts, amperes, watts)

  4. omg this just happened to my computer...because your computer stays on when it is plugged in, it cant be a problem with the adapter. you will need a new battery for your computer...

  5. This could be a problem on your battery. The battery is not charging so it must be checked by a local technician to replaced the battery.
