I have a a1319h right now.

My plan is to buy parts slowly and finaly build a computer.

So what should i buy first.

My budget on the first item is 100-130 dollars.

I want it to be either a case or a graphics card.

What should i pick?

If i get a case i will move my old pc to the new case and slowly change the parts.

If i get a graphics card i will put it in my old computer. I will soon change my motherboard and processor so will it have any compatibilty issues. Need help

thank you

  1. first off your new graphics card might not work in your older hard drive.  So, I'd recommend the hard drive first.  It will give you an updated graphics card, which may give your two for one.  Depending on the age of your old harddrive it's likely nothing will transfer over except keyboard, speakrs, possible printer.  Good luck.  You are ambitious.

  2. I'd go with the case first to me it seems like a more 'from the ground up' decision. although it really depends on what kind of computer your wanting to build for a gaming computer you'llill want at least 256mb of graphics memory and 1-2gigs of ram as well as a bulky harddrive say around 200-300gigs. A dual core processor to me would be a must in a gaming computer. If it is going to be for say just casual use or as a family computer you can go with cheaper parts and less memory. like 128mb of graphic memory and 512mb of ram(my current family comp has 1gig) and it's overkill for the ammount of use others put into it. If you've got alot of pictures games movies music etc. that you will want to put onto the comp. i'd keep a 200-300gig hardrive in mind but to start you wouldn't need that much. and a single core processor should do. really depends on what you expect your comp to put out. I think I may have rambled a bit..lol.

  3. i don't know about "should", but i would replace the case first... then when you have enough money, replace the motherboard and processer... that will usually come with a graphics card that you can upgrade as the following upgrade...

if you replace the graphics card before the motherboard you will be limited to whatever is compatible with the current motherboard...

  4. Go to pcstats.com and look at the beginners' guides. There are a couple of guides about building your own computer.
