Computer disconnecting >_> again. over and over.?

Question

so....i really cant believe im asking again..but...im still having internet problems and dont know why. so here is what happens...

-the broadband light on my modem/router idk which one...x_x goes completely off from being green.

-I get disconnected from my internet. Although on like IMing programs like yahoo and msn, it doesnt put me offline. But when im in an online game, it freezes and eventually closes out.

-Then slowly the light comes back yellow and blinks and then becomes green again and im back on able to do things via the internet. And then about 1-2 minutes later...it goes off again and repeats.

It's really frustrating trying to do things when i get disconnected every minute. If anyone knows why, or anything about this problem happeneing...please let me know. Should I just call the internet provider and see whats up? Its been going on for over a week now, so it cant be maintenance or something temporary like i had hoped. T_T

It sounds like there is faulty hardware in the problem. It could be your modem, router, or even the dsl filter on the phone line.. The other day I fixed a network that was having the same problem. The solution was that the metal connectors in the small telephone wire wall attachment had started to oxidize. It was an easy fix to replace the box..

However, I think from the sounds of things that its probably your modem. Modems don't last forever.
