Computer doesn't recognize sony camcorder ccd-trv30?

i have this reallly old camcorder and i have tapes of myself as a baby.

i would like to put the videos in the tape onto my computer to edit and show my relatives but my computer doesn't wanna recognize the old camcorder (ccd-trv30)

the camcorder's my dads and i have no idea how to do this?

i bought the adapter thing to connect the camcorder to my computer(its the one wit the red/yellow wires) can any expert help me or something

  1. di you install a driver for it?


  2. you need the disc it comes with to install it into the computer..it might be too old though...

  3. Normally, drivers are bundled w/ the OS- XP/Vista

    ccd-trv30, a miniDV vcam, must be iLink / FIREWIRE400**-connected to pc, to upload video thru video capture or video editing* software while vcam is ON PLAYBACK.  Note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin. Before cable purchase** (Vcam/4pin=>firewireCABLE=>PC (4/ 6pin?), check pc for DV or firewire port, whether 4 or 6 pin. If none, install firewire card: pci for pc or pcmcia for laptop.
