Computer doesnt detect my camcorder!?

I have a jvc GR-D295 camcorder and when i connect it to the computer it doesnt pick up anything.

what do i do? help!

  1. Use a firewire cable to connectthe DV port on the camcorder to the firewire port on your computer. USB won't work

    Firewire400, IEEE1394a, DV and i.LINK are all the same thing.

    If you are using a Windows based computer without a firewire port, hopefully you have an available expansion slot to install a firewire card.

    If you are using a Macintosh, they have had firewire400 ports standard for about 10 years. The only exception is the new Mac Air.

    No... a USB to firewire converter adapter will not work.
