Computer experts - please help!?

Question

Have a new IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad T61 with Windows XP software. It keeps typing backwards - letters travel left from cursor. Is it possible that I am accidentally touching a key to make it type backwards? Is there a better solution than closing down, then re-booting? Many thanks if you can provide an answer.
