Computer freezes up when watching videos on the computer?

Question

Whenever I watch something on windows media player, vlc player, classic media player, etc. my computer freezes. I can still watch things on Youtube or any other video hosting site (myspace, break.com etc.) What's wrong with my computer??

this is what i got from "My Computer"

AMD Athlon XP 2900+

2.00 GHz, 768 MB of RAM

oh and there are no viruses on my computer

Sounds like it's time to bump up the memory on your computer and maybe clear out the systems cache on your comp. And it could be that you might need another video card. Here is a great website to buy memory from www.crucial.com (they do a systems check and see what kind of memory will work best with your comp. I did it with my Mac book Pro and it did wonders for it and plus they have really good prices there. Hope this helps you out some = )

my computer does the same thing, its very annoying but I think its normal.my friends computer takes about 10 mins to load a youtube vid. so dont bother trying to fix it, theres nothing you can do about it.
