Computer glasses?

I heard they sell glasses for people who use the computer for long periods of time and I have a couple of questions. You can also add personal input if you yourself wear computer glasses.

1) Do you have to go in for an eye exam?

2) How much do they go for?

3) If you dont wear glasses can they still help you?

  1. Typically computer glasses are used for people who spend a lot of time on the computer and their eyes are getting tired. Yes, you need an eye exam, and the price of the glasses themselves really vary on what you need/want on them. Check into your insurance, a lot of time you have vision coverage that your not aware of. Get your eyes checked first and see if you need them! The warning signs are blurred vision on the computer, tired eyes, headaches, or just getting sleepy if you spend too long on the computer. Also when we are on the computer, we don't tend to blink enough, we stare at the screen. This can cause dry eyes and strain. If you look off to the distance and blink for a minute, it may relieve some of your computer eye issues. Also, set your computer further away from you and turn down the brightness, that should also relieve some strain.
