Computer has no sound, prob with multimedia audio controller?

Question

I think I accidentally deleted the multimedia audio controller while I was deleting old programs from my computer and now I have no sound. System Restore isn't going to work because I don't have any available days to use that would work. When I try to re-install the mm audio controller thingy, it says that I need some software, which I have no idea where it is. I went online to download a driver because I read somewhere that's what I should do, but I have no idea which one to download. Someone please help me!! I need step-by-step help, I'm not very good with computers and I've been trying to figure this out for hours. It's been quite annoying. 10 points to the best answer!! thanks.

Make sure your Sound Driver isn't disabled; it may have inadvertently disabled itself during shutdown:

Go to Device Manager (Start> RightClick My Computer> Properties> Hardware Tab> Device Manager) and right click on your sound driver and choose enable. If not, try updating the driver, which will effectively restore it to factory settings if there's an update available.

If you don't know the name of you Sound Driver, so to Start> Run> dxdiag. Now go to the Sound Tab and any sound hardware installed is listed.

If that still doesn't work, the driver may have been uninstalled. If so, go to your computer's manufacturer's website and go to the "Support" section. There should be a link for drivers. You will need to know your computer's model, but once you enter that it will give you an option to download any missing drivers. Just find the Sound Driver and install it.

try this (step by step ) : right click with my computer -properties -hardware - device manager- double click with sound and game controller - if is there a ? (with yellow) right click -update driver -no,not this time -next -install from a list or specific location -next -don't search i will choose... -next-check mark on show compatible hardware - click on this hardware (to make blue) - next - finish. restart your pc . good luck !
