The computer really hurts my eyes and so do bright lights and I think I need glases/contacts!! A few years ago at school they did an eye test and I passed everything except this one part where the ball was suppost to be in box a or something and I said it was in box b or somethin and they said I have a muscle problem!!Then I went for a vision screening and everything looked like they had place one letter over top or another letter (it was a machine not like on paper or anything) and then they asked me to read it and I couldn't because it looked like 2 letters at once!! I have never had my eyes checked and I can see fine, I can see close up, I can see far away...Can anyone give me any tips on what kind of condition my eyes might be in or if you think I need glasses or not or what?? Also I want to get contacts if I need glassesbut my dad says I might not have a conditon that contacts mgitht not fix, what eye conditions can't be fixed by glasses If it helps both my parents wear glasses!!

  1. u need glasses

  2. Trust me its the computer. My eyes hurt after reading for a long time and after looking at the computer a long time. Worse when I'm writing a paper. Whatever you do don't look at a laptop screen for long periods of time it made my head feel weird and I got dizzy.

  3. of course,if you use computer too long time,it's hart to your eyes.

  4. It may not be your eyes but monitor flicker......

You will find relief if you set your monitor's refresh to a frequency above 60 Hz.  The flickering problem is made worse if you have fluorescent lighting as they too flicker at 60Hz.......

If you don't know how, please email me

  5. If you don't think that it is a computer screen problem, you may have a binocular problem, meaning your eyes don't work together perfectly.  This would cause a problem with depth perception (which the box test and 2 letters test may have been).  The muscle problem could be a slight eye turn or just an imbalance between your two eyes.  It could definitely cause pain when trying to focus (although I don't think it would have anything to do with the bright lights).  I would suggest seeing an optometrist.  Vision should never be uncomfortable, so see someone who could help.  Plus, you should have an eye exam every year or two anyways to make sure your eyes are healthy.  :)
