Computer/iTunes help!! i keep having to redownload iTunes and I loose ALL my songs!!!??

okay so i have itunes downloaded on my laptop and everytime i shut down the computer and then try to turn it back on i have to redownload itunes (i have to "agree" to the 'terms and agreements" and do all the stuff you do wen u first get itunes). Then once it is redownloaded i click "transfer purchases" from my iPod. once that is done only like HALF on the songs on my iPod are downloaded onto the library. so i have NO idea what to do because i obviously cant keep on buying the songs that i loose but i cant keep my laptop on forever so PLEASE HELP ME! what do i do???

actually the files for all your music should still be on your computer under a folder called itunes music. It has just been misplaced and itunes can't find it.
