Computer in the middle of an update froze what do I do?

I have a Sony vaio DESKTOP computer running vista and I started the update

And now it says:

Configuring updates: Stage 1 of 3 - 0% complete

Do not turn off your computer

It has been like that for about 10 minutes

What do I do????
