Computer internet conection : I have the io dsl internet ( from cablevision ) and a belkin N router ....

ok here is the story... I have a hp pavilion laptop with vista home premium and I have the internet from cablevision and I used with my laptop plugged by the usb cable.. after a while I wanted to go wireless so I buy the belkin N router and it works perfectly .. I pay the whole bill by myself but theres a guy who moved to my appartament who wants to be connected to my router and he says he will help me to pay the bill, I agree but I know the router is not going to work as fine as it just do with 1 laptop so the router has a outlets to plug wired computers, but I don't know how to make it work, because now when I plug my laptop to a cable it doesn't receive internet signal... any help with that ? I will give you 10 points .

Right now you are set up for a wireless network. You need to configure a wired network.

Get Network Magic for free at www.networkmagic.com. Use it to check or setup a new wired network so that you can connect with your computer wired.

I don't believe that you will gain much by having 1 wired and one wireless. You can try both wireless and see if there is a significant impact.

With 2 or more computers connected thru the router, it needs to be configured as DHCP server. Also, after connecting the second computer you'll need to power cycle your network.

Turn everything off > Wait 5 mins > Turn on modem > Wait 2 mins > Turn on router > Wait 1 min > Turn on computers, one at a time. See if that fixes the problem?
