Ok, well earlier yesterday i did a system update, for service pack 1 on windows vista. So then the computer froze on one of those "0xc0000 [ someting like that ] messages. So i couldnt do a system restore because i didnt have a working system restore point. So i restored my computer to its factory settings. then i did an update, and the power went off during the update, i turned on the laptop the next day, and the computer is acting funny, and it takes a long time to sign on. And when i finally sign on, it acts very slow, and the cpu usage is at 100. Some message popped up in the right hand corner, saying windows couldnt log in with other names, and someting about an administrator. Do you know whats wrong? Please help!!!!

You can download and scan your computer for free.

  4. Not sure of problem. But start again and reinstall Vista but choose a restore point before you do the update.

Check out the computer without the update first. If it works well, it may be the update itself causing a problem, maybe even conflicting with software already on your computer.

I have used Vista extensively and don't know anything about the service pack 1 update you mention. If your computer works well without it, skip that update.
