  8. Check http://www.pc-optimizer-pro.com

With pc optimizer pro you can safely clean, repair and optimize your computer.

It will help improve your system performance without expensive hardware upgrades.

  9. Ram (random access memory) is the how much memory your pc has. To clear ithe RAM, he means to clear or erase the temporary memory storage from the RAM so it is not full. This temporary memory is tracking what your computer operations is doing, not your stored file documents. If RAM is full, your computer will run more slowly. You can not lose your documents if they are saved. You should make a backup of your documents if you are worried about losing them - you could save your documents to a CD- or to another backup source.

Other ways to improve performance is to regularly run the 'disk defragmenter', and delete the extra internet temporary files, and cookies, and install a spyware program to catch the spy cookies that slow-down your computer.

Let your friend help you; it sounds like he/she has the experience to know what to do.

  10. RAM stands for Random Access Memory and all it does is store the programs that you or the computer are  using at any particular moment.  close the program it goes back onto the hard drive and out of the RAM.If you put a program on your computer that clears the RAM while you are using different programs, you'll loose any unsaved  information within those programs.  I'd erase that program off my computer and tell your buddy to leave his hands off your computer.

If your computer is running slow, run the disk defragmenter ( start, all programs, accessories, system tool, defragmenter) and see if that works.  Also you need to update your anti virus, and spy ware protection then run them.

    Hope this helps you.

  12. INDEX

    1 Viruses

    2 Slowness/Lagg

    3 Not Enough Memory

    1. Viruses

If you just get a virus and it is noticeable try to remove it with your antivirus or antispyware.(If you don’t have one Download a free one off of Downlad.com such as programs like AVG ANTI-VIRUS, AD-ADWARE 2008, and etc.)If it does not work try to find any recent files that were downloaded anything suspicious . If all comes to fail you can use System Restore which will restore your computer to a previous day or week back when you didn’t have the virus. To get to system restore click START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS> SYSTEM RETORE.

    2. Slowness/Lagg

Slowness or lagg is mostly caused from lack for RAM (Random Access Memory). Which basically means you have to many programs running at once. The normal amount of RAM that most computers have are about 256mb or 516mb which is not good. The better range of RAM memory that you should have is 1Gb to 4Gb as in 4Gb being the best. 1024mb = 1gb. There are many different types of ram to find out how much you have or what kind you have go on http://crucial.com/systemscanner/index.a... which is completely safe and will tell you possible updates or upgrades. If you do not want to spend money and just improve what you have you can remove programs temporarily from running off of the task manager by hitting ctrl , alt , delete then clicking the Processes Tab and removing known programs such as photo, printer, music, file sharing, and browsers. Try not to remove useful programs like explorer.exe and svchost.exe and files like that cause they can shut down your computer. If you remove needed program you can restart you computer and they will be back. To permanently remove programs from starting up when your computer starts up click START>RUN>msconfig>Startup tab. Try to remove files that are from your program files and not from common setup

Such as windows, rundll32 or regsvr. This will greatly speed up your computer depending on how many programs you have running.

    3. Lack of Memory

To gain more memory There are a few things you can do. First you can click START> MY COMPUTER> THEN RIGHT CLICK LOCAL DRIVE (C) AND GO DOWN TO PROPERTIES>DISK CLEANUP. Then you can uninstall any unwanted games or programs by clicking Start>control Panel>Add or Remove Programs then click the program you want to remove. Next is to defrag you hard drive by clicking START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS> SYSTEM DEFRAGMENTATION which might take a long time. You should also delete any unwanted photos and songs which can take up a lot of memory. Finally always empty your recycle bin.

  13. RAM stands for Random Access Memory. Your computer needs a certain amount of it open to function properly. There are many things that can cause your computer to get slow. If you are running on Windows, then you already have some tools in it you can use to help this problem. Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools.

Inside this menu you will find some good programs to run. Two good ones are Disc Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter. Disk Cleanup will get rid of temporary internet files and cookies you don't need. Every time you open a web page, your computer stores a copy of everything on it (even the ads) so the page opens faster next time you go to it. This ends up in a build up of stored pages you may not ever look at again. Clean out your temporary internent folders and your computer will run faster.

Disk Defragmenter will move files and parts of files around on your computer so they are close together again and work faster. They get scattered around by the RAM and need to be reorgainized every now and again. If you run Disk Defragmenter, just let it do its thing and leave your PC alone for a few hours.

Also, most major antivirus programs usually have similar tools as these I just described, if you go into the main menu page for your antivirus/security software. They work very similar to the ones already in Windows, though, so it's perfectly OK to just use those, if you want.

If after this your PC is still really slow, you may wish to take it to a professional computer shop. They can find hidden spyware and other programs running in the background slowing your computer down which you don't need, and clean it up for you. Just make sure you are clear with them about what you do and dont want, so they don't make unwanted changes to your computer.
