Question:

Computer issues: Freezing

Hey

I've got a Windows XP, I think it's either Media Center or Professional. It's running sort of slow on the internet, but I think that's because of my wireless router. But recently, it's been entirely freezing up. Whatever media I have playing begins skipping constantly, on the exact same spot. I can't move my mouse, and the only way to turn it off is manually, which I hate doing because I've heard it could be damaging to my computer. If you need any other information, I'll post it. It happens most often when I'm on the internet, as well. I use Mozilla Firefox, if this is of any relevance.

  3. Save most of your recent information on a disk or flash drive, then do a system restore for about 2 weeks ago or when the problem occurred. If that doesn't help bring it in for repairs.

  4. yea i think it might be memory issues

  5. It very well could be firefox , but I dont think that is your issue. Does you PC feeze up when you are watching video or when you are just playing sound. If so try updating you sound device driver. You can find this by first getting the manufacturer for your sound card. Right click on your volume control in your start up menu lower right of screen and select adjust audio properties. This will get you the info you need to get your driver. simply download and install.

If this doesnt help you will need to provide more specifics to your problem such as RAM use when applications you are running causes the freeze. You may just have to many programs running in the background. windows washer can help solve some of those issues.

  7. There are several primary areas that could be causing your computer to freeze. The most likely reason is that Corruption within your registry keys, registry classes, and registry settings.Any time you make a change to any of your computers settings and surfing online, they are stored and updated in the registry.Over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions and full of junk and errors. So if you run a program,it will take a long time to required registry file and sometime it cant find its registry files since regsitry errors and then it has to sit there. So your computer will freeze.

You need to run a self diagnostic program called regsitry cleaner. This program is very very useful,it can fix regsitry errors, clean registry remnant, corrupt files and temp files in a few minutes. Then give you a bran-new and high-speed computer. There are collection and comparison of top rated registry cleaner:
