Im curious. I have a ipod and a toshiba laptop. When im at home, I use my ipod earphones to listen to my itunes library. If i just use just one ear bud, the sound seems different (almost cut in half as far as the instruments go.) Do the earphones divide the sound or what?

  1. They're stereo earphones, most music nowdays is recorded (at least) stereo.

That is, there are two halves, left and right. Depending on how they want the song to 'feel' the sounds will be divided accordingly. You might be able to make the ipod play as 'mono' which will merge the two channels into 1.

  2. It is probably playing in stereo sound. That means each earbud thing plays its own little piece. That is common with music these days. Or your earphone is screwed up.

  3. yea, pretty much. when you do that and play music, you're only getting that half of the song, and you need both to hear everything.

i used to do that on my bus to skool, and found that both headphones is much better.
