  1. It's because Vista. If only you could downgraded it to XP.

Or you can try this options :

+ Download & Install CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/download to cleanup junkfiles on your PC, yes it's a freeware.

+ Clean your PC using CCleaner.

+ Stop some windows XP services that run in the background. To do this, read article I create in http://xhspz.wordpress.com/2008/07/13/st...

    Hope this help,

    Notes :

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. Additionally it contains a fully featured registry cleaner. But the best part is that it's fast.

  2. First you gotta do a few tweaks, disabling things you dont need, such as disk indexing (windows search service), and some visual effects. Start button. Right mouse click Computer. Click the Manage menu item.  This requires administrator privilege so you’ll need to respond to the UAC prompt. After the Computer Management MMC launches, expand the Services and Applications node on the bottom of the navigation tree control.

Click the Services node. Now you’ll see a list of all of the services.

Scroll to the bottom of the list. Right mouse click Windows Search and click the Properties menu item.  Click the Stop button to shutdown and stop the service. Change the Startup type to Disabled.  Keep in mind this also disables Outlook 2007 integrated search for your email. Click OK to save those changes. Scroll the list of services and find Superfetch.  Stop the service and change it to manual.  Do the same for the ReadyBoost and Offline Files services. This will give you back precious clock cycles, enjoi!

Oh one more thing If you dont need the extra eye candy (visual effects) then you can go to the performance options and disable some of the effects as well.
