Question:

Computer making clicking noise?

My computer makes clicking noises sometimes, I know its not because some part fell off or something because the noise effects my computer, it freezes my computer and also bad lags. Then my screen will turn blue following the lag. My friend said that the blue screen shut down my computer to prevent damage, blocking something bad that was trying to get into my computer. and the noise was because of the fan, hard drive, or motherboard.

I'm not 100% sure that those two problems are related due to my friend's explanation, unless the clicking noise IS the virus, but then isn't the reason for the noise because my hard drive or fan is too old? So it should be harmless. And I don't think rebooting my computer will help, so what should I do?
