My computer is a Dell xps4 and takes DDR2 SDRAM so that means I cant install just regular old DDR SDRAM because of the difference in the amount of pins plus it just wont fit right?

  1. Yes.  DDR2 ram is different from DDR ram which is different from SDRam.  In shape, in where the slot is, and in the number of pins... as well as other more important differences you can't see.

DDR=Double Data Rate.  SDRam=Single Data Rate.
