Computer moniter displaying no input signal can you help?

Question

when i turn on computer it starts up ok then monitor switches itself off with the information no input signal can someone tell me why i am now receiving no signal to my main computer and is their a solution.many thanks jackie

its telling you that something is wrong with the video,, either the drivers, settings, chip or connections.  someone may have adjusted the settings too high,, if you can't get to the bios you can remove the little battery from the motherboard to reset all the settings...

if you have  seperate video card it may be loose or gone bad,  the cables may be loose,, etc etc etc

i once changed moniters and had the same problem, i had to amend the resolution output on the computer in order for it to work.

my brothers computer once downloaded an update taht messed around with his settings, his was more harder to resolve, had to boot the computer up in safemode and restore the system to what it ws b4 the update

power off unplug then replug monitor cables.

Either the cord is lose in the back of the computer or you might have a monitor like I do. My monitor has two input jacks in back of it. So I can hook up two computers and flip a switch on the front of it to view one computer of the other.  See if you have a switch on the front of monitor, mine says 1 <-> 2   .  Switch it to the other one and see what happens.  Lastly the video card might be slightly lose inside the computer.  You need to take the side of the computer off and look for the video card. Just push on it to make sure its forced into the socket firmly.

first check physical connections, if it is not that i suspect the problem is with the graphics card. have you added a new card recently? if yes check drivers, if not the card may have developed a fault and should be replaced
