Computer not recognizing my blackberry pearl?

Question

i want to use the "media" section of my blackberry desktop manager to put ringtones on my pearl.. but when i click it, it says i dont have a USB cable connection... but when it said that.. i already had my blackberry connected with the cable.. so im confused! do i need a media card or somthing? please help=(

You can add a few ringtones without the media card. I wouldn't add too many because of the memory size.

Make sure you have the Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.3 w/Media option. Uninstall any previous versions.
