  1. Hold down the CTRL key and press ESC. Does it still gives you the menu ? Try accessing internet from there. If you can and then suspicious a virus. Try this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

  2. When your computer is at the boot screen, press F8. This will take you to the boot menu. When there you can try rebooting your computer. If that doesn't work you can just start up windows with diffrent options that will get your computer back to normal.

  3. Restart your computer and just before it boots up with Windows, press "F8" on your keyboard repeatedly.  Now, choose "Boot Windows with last known configuration" or something like that, and see if it works.  It probably says last known good configuration.  If that doesn't change it, try it again but this time try the booting with minimal drivers.  If it works, use the restore points in Windows to see if you can use a restore point to recover Windows (Start > Help and Support > Undo changes to your computer with system restore > choose restore point)

My instructions are for Windows XP users.

  4. Are you able to restart your PC in safe mode with networking

If so, download, install and run a full scan with Malwarebytes

  5. I think i have had this problem befor try right clicking on your desktop and go on view and click "Show Desktop Icons" :)

  6. I would reformat my hardrive

  7. bummer well what i would do is get it looked at and get the virise cleaned out

  8. Sounds pretty bad. If you can, download some sort of antivirus and run it. If you can't do that, look in C:/WINDOWS/System32/ for the most recently modified item. Search it's name on Google, and see if it is a virus. If so, delete it and try restarting the computer. That's the most reliable way I've found to remove viruses.

  9. Use one of these :

  10. You know, my computer does that sometimes too! I usually just sit there and wait at least a half hour to see if it's just being REALLY slow that day. That's usually the case. If it still won't, then you should shut off your computer and try it again in a while.

Or.... maybe you just need to right click and go to Arrange Icons By and then click Show Desktop Icons. That's easy enough!! :)

    Good luck!!
