Computer power supply will turn on when cored connected without touching the power switch?

computer power supply will turn on when cored connected without touching the power switch but nothing else will happen nothing is coming to the monitor change power supply still did the same thing when the power cord is connected also the red laser light on the mouse stays on as long as the cord is connected to the power supply even thought the computer is off ... any idea whats going on

  1. Check the votage input on the bower  supply, If you're living in the great USA then it show be 115v anywhere else 210v.

    It's a latch on the powersupply itself


  2. Check the setting in the BIOS. There is a option in the BIOS often under power settings to set it so that when the power is switched on after perhaps a power outage the PC switches itself on, simply turn this off. It may be listed under AC Power failure and will be set to Power On or Last State, you want to set it Always Off or similar setting.

    To get into the BIOS, normally F2 or Del as the machine boots up, some are F1 or Esc, it often tells you in the white writing on the black background as the machine starts.
