Computer problem, has to do with a spyware?

Earlier tonight i got a spyware called "Antvirus XP 2008". I managed to remove it, but it seemed to have left a 'bad after effect'.

At first when i saw the spyware, i quickly installed a norton antivirus, scanned the computer and fixed 2 problems. At that time i had no idea how to remove the spyware, until i found a site that helped me to remove it.

Now that the spyware is gone, i notice that my computer is acting weird. When i turn off/on the computer, it takes forever and i have to restart the comp until i see the desktop comes up. My messages won't even go through on myspace and each page that i load looks 'broad'. Also, the norton antivirus that i had installed earlier isn't working. It's telling me that it has a problem and that it must be uninstalled and reinstalled. I tried uninstalling it, but it doesn't work. Is there another way i could remove/uninstall my norton...so that i could get to reinstall it??
