Computer processor choices?

I'm pretty much a noob at the details on processors, and I'm about to get a new computer and I'm stuck on what kind of processor I should get. There's just too many choices and information to learn about each one.

So, if I'm looking for a computer that would be good for mild gaming as well as multi-tasking speed, what processor should I look in to? Also, your thoughts on AMD vs Intel?

    Good Luck man

  2. AMD is cheaper than Intel, but on the other hand all of Intel's are Dual-Core (Better for gaming) than AMD which still sells Single Core Processors.

Make sure that you get an AMD with "X2" somewhere in the Processor title. That will mean Dual-Core.

If you get Intel that is better quality mainly, but also more power consuming which means go with AMD.

You will want at least 2.5GHZ recommended 3GHz Processor Dual-Core for gaming.
