Do I need any more protection? If I add anymore, will it slow down my Windows Vista?

  1. Here are a couple reviews of the best of the best, to be honest, i've never heard of any of those you listed.

  2. You have the necessary protection needed, Avira for viruses, and Spyware Terminator for spyware. I would recommend the Windows Defender in the mix, a program from Microsoft. Having these three will not slow down the computer as they are light on resources and do not require lots of processing power. Stay with Avira AntiVir since it has the best detection rates this year, better than the other free programs like AVG or Avast, after testing from AV-Comparatives. Here's the link for Windows Defender, you might already have it on your computer.

  3. Ccleaner Options

if you install Ccleaner: check all EXCEPT:

    cookies & autocomplete forms [ passwords ]

    windows explorer:

    check all

    system:

    uncheck : recycle & desktop

    advanced: uncheck all

    applications: check all

    options:

settings: if you check run cleaner at start up,that slows access to desktop applications. leave this unchecked and run it everytime you shut down

the other options are up to the individual

    secure deletion: check secure [ 35 ] passes.it's QUICK !

cookies: you can move cookies from to be deleted to be saved permanently

tools: start up: here you can manage your program start up list.

REMOVING PROGRAMS FROM START UP DOES...NOT!...REMOVE THEM FROM YOUR COMPUTER

it will, however, speed up your "boot" time. be careful and remove only those programs you yourself added to the computer

there is also an uninstall application to delete programs that do not have an uninstall file

registry: check all, click scan for issues, click fix all issues, click fix, click ok

    Ccleaner - Home - http://www.ccleaner.com/

registry cleaner: click clean registry, click autoclean, click go

minimize and go about your buiness. when finished,R.C.'er will leave you a notice on your desktop that auto clean is finished. click ok

there is a back up list that you need to clean out periodically. click back ups: right click each back up point and select delete

there is also a start up manger to manage start up programs like Ccleaner has, same thing

  4. Have the people at btexpress look at your computer. The site is btexpress.page.t and it has great deals. See for yourself

  5. I say thats good enough. I use Avast instead of Antivir.

SpywareTerminator is a MUST on my machines. It scans

on startup and runs quietly on the background.

I also like to keep WindowsAdvancedCare around, just because its a quicker way to check for cookies, tempfiles, and empty registry keys on my computer. For deeper registry clean up I use RegCure.

Now that's just me, since I am a freak of keeping my computer running smoothly, but If you add W.A.C I would say you will be good to go!

  6. I never hear of these programs before either. Always use programs that is know about or that you heard lots of good things about from people who has used it before. With window vista you can load lots of stuff on your computer without it slowing down it all depends on your processor, how much GB on your hard drive, and system memory. The 3 main things to have installed on your computer is 1. Your windows Firewall is turn "On" and kept up-todate. 2 An Antivirus program installed and kept updated with the latest viruses and run a scan at least once a week. 3. A good Spyware Program install and run a scan once a week also. These 3 are very important as for as keeping the computer fully protected ok. If the programs that you have installed is not giving you any problems and is working properly then your computer should be ok, but if it start giving you problems (My suggestion is) to get all new programs that is well known and is known to work. I have 2 with links to click on to give a try if need be ok.

  7. eh, ok but i would also get a dedicated adware program, or all in one like spyware doctor for malware. Also get a registry program to keep your pc clean and running quickly, i suggest regcure, its the best
