if a public computer gets hacked (like at a hotel or library) what happens to the email and facebook accounts that other people have when they log on?

  1. If the user names and passwords are cached, they can be easily read.

    If they can be read, someone can log in and change the passwords and then basically own those accounts.

    Moral of the story?

    NEVER trust a public computer.

  3. Like the other person said, (anything that he/she want to do) example, steal personal information from your computer. If you do banking on line they can get into your accounts, steal your social security number, your name, home address, All of this is just an example of the few things that they can do.

    When you sign out of a public computer that is setup correctly it deletes all history of the previous session.

    And people who use computers in public places should understand that they are not necessarily secure.  And facebook is certainly not secure.

    Change your email password.
