Computer question about cd/dvds?

Question

my vostro 200 wont let me burn cds.

do i have a driver to let me burn cds.

it only says dvd rom.

am i able to burn cds or do i have to buy something for it?

can i download something.

windows media player says connect a burner and restart the player.

and my dvd r cd wont pop up like my other computers.

like when i put in a cd i got options like

burn cd

make a file cd

burn image to cd.

but i dont get this with the new computer?

help plz 10 points

May be you don't have a burner, if you want to check that what can your DVD/CD ROM Drive can do and what other hardware options are available then download DVDInfoPro from http://www.dvdinfopro.com/

Install it and it will tell you your SCSI/ATAPI Drive info, if it displays (it displays every option marked with yes/no) anything like DVD-RW or CD-RW then your drive can burn else not.

If you want to burn files, folders, images etc. on a DD/CD/BD whatever, then download ImgBurn from http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=dow...

(freeware and one of the best).

I wouldnt use any other but ROXIO it totally kicks on burning or whatever else.

you may not have a CD burner drive.   You can purchase one

you need to buy a write drive you just have a read only
